Hello

You sent that message on your netbook ... is it using the broadband modem?

Maybe it is using the wireless?

I'm not sure how a typhoon could make your desktop computer "forget" about the modem, but perhaps a power spike burned out something?

Can you connect your netbook to your modem via wire? Does that work? or are the wired connections on the modem burned out?

Tell us how you are connecting the netbook, and maybe we can help further.
