[Simply Computers] Re: Moving a partition

Use the free Partition Master that Walt recommended.

In Partition Master, you will see a graphical representation of your drives. Click once on your D: drive to highlight it.

Then in the menus, click "Partition", then "Resize /Move"

In the Resize window, you will be able to drag the LEFT hand border of the D drive to the RIGHT, to make some free space.

Now go back and click on C: and Resize it. Drag the RIGHT hand border of C: into the free space that you've just created from D:.

When you get it the way you want, click on the Apply button to make it stick.

Naturally, it is recommended that you have all your important files backed up onto a separate drive, just in case.

I am running windows XP and was wondering if there is any way of moving the partition to make C bigger without losing the data on C ( I can move the data from D to another disc without worry and so leave the rest of the disc with C on it totally free).
