Hi Bennie,
I see you sent your latest message by itself as a new message.
We prefer that you "Reply" to messages sent to you, so that the information in the former messages is included with the newer ones.
That way, everyone who is interested in the topic can follow along.
XP is not always good at renewing an IP address when you connect / disconnet the cables.
Go to one of the computers that is connected via wire, and is working properly, and open a Command Prompt window (its in Accessories)
In the command window type:
ipconfig
and press the Enter key on the keyboard.
You should see a list of numbers.
Look for Local Area Connection.
Right now, you need only be concerned with IP address and Default Gateway.
Write them down, then go to the computer that does not work and run the same ipconfig command.
The Default Gateway address should be exactly the same as the computer that does work, and the IP address should be similar. (the last digit will be different)
If the computer has the wrong Default Gateway address, type:
ipconfig /release
and hit Enter.
Wait for it to respond, then type:
ipconfig /renew
See if this brings up the correct Default Gateway address.
let us know
